4 ways evolution media group has opened my eyes to the exciting world of media

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo once said: “The power of one, if fearless and focused, is formidable, but the power of many working together is better.”

The team of evolution media group reflects this quote perfectly. Each individual I have met is passionate about their job and as a whole; the team’s electric energy is exhibited in all aspects that evolution media has to offer.

This week has taught me many important things that I’m confident I will take with me in my future endeavors:

1. Full time work is nothing like high school. I had absolutely no idea what to expect when I was sitting in the waiting room at 9am on Monday morning. I knew it would be different to the safe bubble of school life but I wasn’t sure in what ways. The biggest shock to me was this ‘9 to 5’ business and that now you don’t have more than one deserving break a day.  My initial thoughts of this week were that I would be the designated coffee runner (bring it on) but boy, I was wrong.  I had the opportunity to go to a lunch at Westpac called ‘Women of Westpac’. Here, I was able to listen to evolution media group’s Group CEO, Vanessa Stoykov speak about the importance of wealth education.  I also got to sit in on meetings with the production, marketing and sales teams.

2. Work can be interesting, innovative and exciting. Over the past week, the team took the time to pass on their knowledge to help me better understand the world of production, marketing and media. This week has also taught me that original and creative ideas in a company like evolution media can make work exciting and enjoyable – something that to me is of the upmost importance.

3. Attention to detail is key. My mum has always tried to instill in me the importance of attention to detail and now I finally get it. I was extremely impressed with the amount of effort that went into editing a promo for evolution media group’s new TV show, No More Practice Transformation Series.  Every little detail was taken into consideration to create a perfect 30-second snippet of this innovative new show.

4. Strategic planning ensures the success of your business. I was lucky enough to try out the No More Practice 30 Day Business Challenge. I completed the personality test, watched the first episode of the No More Practice Transformation Series and gained access to lots of other exclusive content. This opportunity not only gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of strategically running your business but it also allowed me to gain a greater understanding of myself.

The “fearless and focused” team of evolution media has inspired me.  This experience has definitely been rewarding and I thank everyone that made my time here so enjoyable.
