Formidable duo creates global learning network for financial empowerment
Well known publishing identity Lou Johnson is joining forces with the founder of evolution media group (EMG) Vanessa Stoykov, to expand the group into a global media company, specialising in measurable financial empowerment.
The two experienced content creators and audience attractors are combining their deep experience and extensive networks to create and deliver content that will globally empower people by sparking a curiosity and growth mindset around their own financial potential.
This will be done via long term content and learning development created in collaboration with superannuation/pension funds, investment houses and corporate employers who are committed to supporting financial wellbeing for their people.
WIth people born after 2007 now expected to live a 100 year life* and financial stress affecting employee productivity at a cost to the Australian economy of over $66 billion a year,* super funds and corporations have a greater responsibility to support the ongoing financial wellbeing of their members and employees.
Johnson, originally the publisher of Stoykov’s latest book, has over 30 years’ experience across multinational, SME and startup publishers, finding and developing authors to satisfy an audience. This has given her a unique insight into commercialising content and how storytelling connects with people.
The EMG learning model utlises storytelling, increasing information retention to over 65%,* across a content suite encompassing online courses, keynotes, events, screen, books, podcasts and more.
In alignment with the evolving needs of employers and their people, the creative strategy of EMG provides a customisable framework that supports measurable financial wellbeing over a person’s lifetime in a unique collaboration with distribution partners and content creators.
The model sees the EMG deep pool of creative talent continually developing and measuring the impact of entertaining storytelling across genres and channels, beginning with money conversations, and the emotional impact that money has on everyday lives and our overall wellbeing.
Johnson says, “Financial literacy, like publishing, is all about providing people with the right information, delivered by the right creators, in an accessible and entertaining way. However, I have realised books can only tell part of the story. For content to really connect it needs to be where people are, in all forms they want to access it and its impact needs to be measurable. EMG’s deep partnership with the finance industry combines key learnings from traditional media, publishing and education and democratises access to life-changing learning at the same time. This unique collaboration has the potential to empower millions of people around the world.”
“The most exciting part to me is the ability to bridge genres and distribution channels to create narratives that enable people to identify and recognise the opportunities for positive change within their own situations. It’s a storyteller’s dream’, says Stoykov.
The seasoned money educator has developed a proprietary model of learning, called financial flashpoints, which allows people to assess the financial impact of emotional decisions made in critical points of change in life. This approach, coupled with accessible conversation scripts and practical tips is reflected in her latest book, The Five Conversations about Money to Radically Change Your Life, available globally, and the Vanessa Stoykov range of learning products.
Over 23 years, Stoykov and evolution media group have pioneered storytelling in partnership with the most senior levels of the financial services industry. The group is currently expanding a network of industry partners, The Nationbuilders Collective. The media vehicle for the collective, Wicked Problems, Visionary investors serves as the groups’ B2B education platform, playing an important role in communicating the progress the industry is making towards addressing the biggest challenges of our time.
EMG will be making announcements about upcoming partnerships and foundation programs over the coming months.
